Popping bubbles in the asphalt like we were twelve years old Take on the world, ready to break the mould Glint in your blue eyes as if on cue When I first met you Loose matchsticks in your overall pocket Scheming clandestine plans with bottle rockets Shoestring daydreams bought with nickels and dimes An adage of the times Just like heathers last two cigarettes Tucked in the pocket of my old jean jacket Day old coffee and a mile of regrets Thinking about Heather’s last two cigarettes Dial from a pay phone, had to call collect Palmed two quarters, all it took was credit I had the cash, but couldn’t recall your number Like I could when we were younger Sometimes it just feels right, or maybe most times it’s wrong If I forget the words, can I still hum along? Yet to decide if I’ll stay or I’ll go Thought that you would like to know Just like Heather’s last two cigarettes Still in the freezer from before she left Day old coffee and a mile of regrets Holding Heather’s last two cigarettes I recall a conversation we once had “Friends make friends stiff drinks when they’re feeling sad, Could I fix us a G&T’s to pass the time Promise this time I won’t forget the lime” Just like Heather’s last two cigarettes Tucked in the pocket of that old jean jacket Day old coffee and a mile of regrets Smoking Heather’s last two cigarettes Down to it all, down to the last straw I smoked it all, save for the last two draws But if I tried we could stretch it to two One for me and one for you And if you’d like we could stretch it to two One for me and one for you

On & On 05:31
Myths are build, bought and sold Legends born or so I'm told From the tales that travel far on the open road On your final dollar, is a last resort Be quick as a whip on the old asphalt You’ll need quite the wit to hit what’s in the motherlode We all want to make something out of nothing I felt the changing of the season Shift the rain on into snow Those dirt road highway lamentations Whispered lore I did not know And it goes on and on and on and on And on and on and on Long after you’re gone x2 I had the right idea, the wrong execution Went soul searching for a solution Held a compass in the palm of my hand Dirt roads riddles may have answers There’s no rhyme or reason for seasoned grifter You know there’s no forgiveness left to this land And the needle kept spinning aimlessly I felt the changing of the season Shift the rain on into snow Those dirt road highway lamentations Whispered lore I did not know And it goes on and on and on and on And on and on and on Long after you’re gone x2 Give me a sign A burning bush Excavate the deadfall Give one final push The past smoulders out As a lacklustre haze Stretches out far beyond Those long forgotten days To feel the changing of the season Of the woe that was foretold Wait for those highway lamentations Shift the grass from blue to gold And it goes on and on and on and on And on and on and on Long after you’re gone x4

Slow it down, Honey To a breathable pace Account for every movement We’re not in it to race Kindness and patience Is desired, is sought Feed what is required Discard what is not Stir in what’s called for Set aside the rest It may get messy Trust the process Fold what is needed No need for surprise A watched pot never boils Let rest, let it rise Slow it down, Sweetheart There’s no means to an end No need to rush, Dear Let it heal let it mend Your work is almost ready Let it rise, let it grow Your heart will heal in time, Love Let it warm, let it glow Slow it down, Darling Let go of all the doubt It’s not about the linear Breathe it in, breathe it out Slow it down, Honey Take stock in what you know Trust in how you got here Don’t be afraid to take it slow

Light Again 03:28
Pointed poignant Disjointed Atonement I’ll wait for dawn to break The moon to finally wane The darkness of the day Overcome what cannot stay Lets go and get drunk on light again - it has the power to console Restore Devour Make whole This hour Weave through the streets By foot, under the moon Reflections left for wanting Of the brightness to be full Lets go and get drunk on light again - it has the power to console Lets go and get drunk on light again - it has the power to restore Lets go and get drunk on light again - it has the power to restore Lets go and get drunk on light again - it has the power to restore (Chorus is a Georges Seurat quote)

Pour me a cup To stave off the cold Something warm and familiar Something to hold This is a prayer A new days begun Liminal and holy Like a new song Spoons clink in silence A sonnet of sorts No ones an island Every ship needs a port Pour me a cup If I could be so bold Something warm and familiar Something to hold Juniper, the coastline Your windswept face Reminds there’s a time A time and a place To light a dictionary ablaze Engulfing your name Leave poets grasping For words, flankers and flame Pour me a cup Don't leave me dry We could part the sea Where our ship meets the sky Pour me a cup More precious than silver Liminal and holy brings light through this winter Pour me a cup To stave off the cold Something warm and familiar Something to hold

Libraries 05:22
It was under the overpass You gesture so cavalier Just beyond my view of frame The architects didn’t account for the weight of the books Let the queen take the rook, All those letter, words soon to be lost, oh what a needless shame Said we’d be like Venice one day In all of its downfall and none of the fame When I asked what you had meant Clarify your thoughts of all the things you said, “it was sinking and that’s for certain” Did Alexandria turn to fight before her kingdom burned away Were there onlookers from land, it’s hard to say Or did Atlantis sink in a blink, did they sit or did they stand When were they finally forced to look away? All those pages all those books, hungry eyes, forgotten looks Masts and ships fall to the sea, erode away eventually Torn pages faded stories, deceased sages, unsung glories Lost in forgotten shores, voracious minds (are) left wanting more Said we’d be like Venice one day In all of its downfall and none of the fame Can you match what you have heard with the words I’ve never said Has the absurd taken up lodgings in your head Did Alexandria turn to fight before her kingdom burned away Were there onlookers from land,it’s hard to say Or did Atlantis sink in a blink, did they sit or did they stand When were they finally forced to look away? Was Plato in a cave expecting to be saved As the light it burned did he prefer the shadows anyways? Blank pages, a sacred pause Silences that fucking gnaw At the heartstrings of the gaping mouths That know not what to say That we’d be like Venice one day In all of its downfall and none of the fame After finishing a painting, relief in unmasking the unknown before sadness takes it toll, slowly seeps into your bones In upholding what once was, what sort of mercy have I caused? What do I do when the art is separate from me and now I am alone?
